this will be the ongoing thread where i’ll post updates on whats happening with GWDSK updates
2-12-26
currently my main plans for updates in 2026 revolve around Interface and Controls. specifically
- overall gui design, layout, and flow
- midi controls - mainly just for the macro panel tbh. arbitrary midi cc assignations.
- macro panel assignments - make it less glitchy to assign
- built in DPI support (i.e why is everything so tiny on one of my screens but not the other)
- theme control for people who don’t like dark mode all the time
- and the big one that i’m breaking out for WPDSK PRO and hopefully popping into GWDSK afterwards: floating panels that can pop out of the main window. so you can for example just grab the macro panel and the presets panel, pop them out of the main gui, and then minimize the rest for a more streamlined experience.
expect maybe some medium small updates in spring and then a big one in summer that addresses most if not all of the above issues. i’m at work currently building libraries for WPDSK PRO that address all of these issues, once things get tested in the field and WPDSK PRO gets officially released i’ll go back and figure out how to merge them backwards into GWDSK
please post requests below that are generally aligned with interface and controls
Requests that are going to be difficult to support
- supporting every midi thing on every platform all the time && supporting every video thing on every platform every time: these are the most common support requests i get, and all i can say is that I can do my best to support the widest range of things possible, but software & operating systems don’t make it easy.
- creating a separate monitor section outside of the main output window for seeing whats going on with inputs/blocks outside of the dedicated output: I’m building the core system of WPDSK pro around this as a necessity, and will do my darndest to figure out how to fold that functionality back into GWDSK once it is fully stress tested
