I had a great opportunity come my way to do live visuals on our outdoor band shell, and this is a beautiful white quarter-dome. I’ve done planetarium shows before and alot of the same tricks will apply here.
I need to use my budget to buy or rent two bright, short throw projectors and I am looking for recommendations on what it will take to get the job done right. The shell is 60 feet across, 30 feet high, and outdoors. I have tested a pair of 5000 lumen short throws, and they are not quite bright enough and not quite big enough of an image to cover the quarter dome.
Can anyone recommend a solution here? I think I probably need 8k+ lumens, and possibly ultra-short-throw or a projector with interchangeable lenses?
