High-Resolution Controller for PCs?

Hey there, I’ve been trying to figure out how to control Compressure (running on my PC) with higher resolution than 7-bit MIDI controllers tend to offer. Ideally, I would just copy the Korg NanoKontrol with the MIDI 2.0 spec, but I can’t seem to find any MIDI 2.0 fader/knob controllers (and IDK if ofxMIDI would even support it). I’m seeing High-Resolution MIDI (10-bit?) floating around, but support for that seems pretty dicey and manufacturers don’t exactly advertise that.

Does anyone know of any controllers, protocols, or DIY solutions for high-resolution fader/knob control?

howdy
not exactly sure what compressure is (steam games and vsts are what pops up for me when i search it) so not super sure if this answer will be relevant
the simplest and most DIY friendly project for arbitrary resolution controller might be working with a QMK controller
heres a very simple example of a single stand alone knob made by the incomparably named ploopyco

working with QMK stuffs is like fairly accessible for beginners if you don’t need to edit anything, becomes slightly more complex at whatever point you need to start customizing things.

the other option for arbitrary resolution controller would be something built around OSC. i think like pad based apps would be the main controllers i’m aware of in this sphere, i haven’t really looked into the existence of any DIY hardware OSC controller projects. theres probably some trade-offs for customization and ease of use with this approach too.

a final option, which is probably too silly but not too silly to completely bypass: voltage controlled oscillator into like an expert sleepers ADC into some kind of c++/maxmsp/pure data project/into OSC
