Hello!
I’ve recently joined the video synthesis community by buying a Panasonic WJ-AVE3 and AVE5. While the 3 is working fine, I’m having some problems with the other one. I’ve seen this problem is quite common but I still haven’t found a solution.
In these photos I was using a cheap rca->hdmi converter for my monitor, now I have a 6" Roadstar CRT TV but the problems persist. I don’t think everything else except the AVE5 is the problem (cables, tv, connectors, audio imputs, ecc) since all of these work fine with the AVE3.
If I put input 1 and monitor out 1 it looks good with A/V cable and S-video, same for input 2 and monitor out 2. If I put input 1 on B and output on preview out it looks stable but in b/w, if I put out 1 or 2 gray/black screen. If I put input 1 on A it looks distorted and b/w, both A/V cable and S-video, on all outputs.
After a while the b/w signal on the B channel changes to a bright colored tending to red like this:
, but the A one still is glitchy asf like this:
This is a list of things I’ve tried to locate where the problem is(with video output in one of the unused outs. Just internal feedback, no external video sources. I also used different cables and BCN connectors):
- Feedback Out 1 in Input 2, both a/v cable and s-video: With A1 and B2 and Rec video out on B or Effect I see a feedback colored flow that after a while begins to alternate very quickly with its b/w version. With A2 and B1 always gray/black (or back color if selected) with Rec video out A,B and Effect.
-Feedback Out 2 in Input 2, both a/v cable and s-video: As Out1/In2
-Feedback Out 2 in Input 1, both a/v cable and s-video: With A2 and B1 I see a colored feedback flow that after a while begins to alternate very quickly with its b/w version. With A1 and B2 I see gray/black (or back color if selected).
-Feedback Out 1 in Input 1, both a/v cable and s-video: As Out2/In1
With video output on Preview out: all the same as above
Other stuff: Digital effect, Fade control, Wipe mode, Back colour, Superimpose effect and all 3 Rec video out work. I haven’t tried the audio part but I actually don’t care about it.
So, some of you had the same problem? How did you fixed this? Should I give up on this and get another one?
I have basically 0 experience with these kind of electronics, I thought about opening the unit to check inside but other than spot a blown-up capacitor I’m not that good on other stuff.
