I have an old version of chav without vga4eva, and the signal generator is really hard to find. But I found an alternative. maybe someone knows is this signal generator is good for the project.
The way it attaches to the pcb requires holes in the corners which the above does not have. The signal generator you need is still out there but I did struggle to find it, I’ll pm you a link.

You could also see if he still has any of the free adapter boards for using VGA4EVA with the older CHA/V versions.
