Hey guys, desperate for an advice here. Does anyone have an experience with TvOne scalers? I have these two, bottom one do downscale and turn a signal coming from my computer to composite analog and the top one to upscale it back and digitize it to DVI. I’ve tried all the settings on both devices, but for the life of me cannot come with why there is such a great frame drop between them. Even if I skip all the analog glitch devices and mixers and just straight up put the output of the downscaler to the upscaler’s input, the video I get is quite jerky and low frame rate comparing the signal I am sending out.
how much have you tested each unit in isolation?
Have you factory re-set both units?
Yep, reset both of them after buying. Well I know that both units produce a video since downscaler provides a pretty normal signal that looks ok on the crt, and upscaler (well it does both, but in this case I call it uspscaler) also does its job. My guess is there’s some tricky setting or combination of settings on both devices, that just don’t produce good results. These things are quite hard to setup properly.
I have noticed DVI dropping frames like crazy in the past. I think it might have been the adaptor though it was a weird problem.
Is it able to output anything except DVI?
Does the problem persist if you output in a different format like RGBS?
Does it drop frames when you only use one TVone device and output DVI?
