when I try to use my computer (MacBook Pro 2021) as an hdmi input on the V4ex the screen automatically mirrors and zooms in like 600% percent on the top right corner, making it impossible to do anything/adjust any settings. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve been searching online but I haven’t been able to find a fix for it- all the forums I’ve seen are about much lesser versions of the problem and don’t really apply to my situation
inputs 1-3 on v4 ex only accept SD signals, no matter if its hdmi or analog. sounds like its forcing that to laptop via handshake and some other interal settings related to scaling and other retina display shenanigans are blowing things up. only input 4 has a downscaler built in (internal processing on v4ex is entirely SD). use input 4 and in the v4ex settings manually change ch4 input to 1920x1080 to test out.
otherwise its just a relatively known issue that using mac laptops & external diplays can be a real crapshoot. if all you want to do is play files maybe just invest in a media player/put together recur and pull macbook out of the mix.
gotcha- I didn’t realize that about inputs 1-3, I will try that! For this I’m outputing my OBS scene so that’s why I’m using my computer. I’ve had issues with external displays before but this was so extreme I wasn’t sure what to do haha.
