starting on a recurboy build and yeah, chips.
utsource are great for obsolete and older chips.
cheers will have a look. normally shipping to nz kills second hand options.
yeah, they have some used parts, a lot new old stock though.
some UTsource sellers sell fakes, so check them after buying. If you file a complaint, most of the time you will get a refund
What IC’s are you looking for?
this is definitely good practice, fakes are everywhere!
yep encountered my fair share of fakes. mainly looking for dip verions of ad8072
iv found it much easier in general to find/afford the soic smd version of some of the harder to find ics than dip.. (at the cost of needing to learn to hold the iron a little steadier) which is why some of those pcbs i made have the option for either (which i realize can also be confusing… )
but for ad8072s [this aliexpress](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32762016417.html) source has done me pretty well… i always test all the ics from aliexpress etc before using them but most of em work well and the added time it takes is still worth it imo.. (but it does help to have atleast one known real chip to compare when testing for fakes…)
oh yea and on the few occasions i got a whole batch of fake chips from aliexpress i always got a refund in the end…
