Hello there all! I hope you are doing well. Currently upgrading my setup and bought a few new circuit bent gear. I’m trying to get a set up going for live shows and I’ve been having problems with my signal dropping. I currently have an EDIROL V-4 and a Panasonic AVe-5 and when I use them as the final signal in my signal chain, it doesn’t drop as much but I like to have one circuit bent gear at the end of my signal chain. After watching @YOVOZOL video on time based correctors and his live rig setup I felt that a time based corrector would really help me. Just wanted some recommendations cause after browsing eBay couldn’t find anything for relatively cheap, most I’ve found are around 500-1000, just is out of my price range. I found a Canopus – AVC 110 Video Converter on OfferUp near me but I couldnt figure out if these have a TBC. I’m really open to suggestions. So thank you all for being here and much love from me, I appreciate any advice I can get.
If you see this bless you yovozol for all your amazing guides it’s truly been a blessing to helping me figure out glitch art.
One other side note if anyone is interested in telling me about there live setup I’m all ears cause I’m still new to VJing and haven’t done my first show. Do you guys like to run a minimalist setup or use all your gear? I currently have the 2 mixers I mentioned above with some circuit bent gear, camera feedback, and resolume. Would love to see clips of your guys work!!! Thank you to everyone in this community.
The other thing I would like to add to this - Glitch is not everything! Try other techniques which do not burn your sync signal beyond repair. Use glitch more sparingly, and you will be amazed at what you notice.
Sync ope is like an effects send for your glitch gear, preserving the sync signal.
Also, before you buy anything try adjusting the setting in the Utility menu on the V4. There’s a threshold or sensitivity option (can’t remember exactly what it’s called but look and you’ll find it). I’ve found I can make the V4 less prone to blue screen by adjusting this setting.
yes this is true, and you have to drop the V4 threshold rather than raise it. I found it counter intuitive anyway : )
Sync-ope is great alright I have one also : )
