Waaave Pool DSK

As beta testing of the OSX WP DSK build has started, I was wondering what folks have been doing (or are planning on doing) to enable payback of video files thru the DSK SW? I figure using OBS Virtual Cam will be the default solution (which also enables Syphon interfacing), but are there any other solutions out there?

I’m still struggling to get video input. But will certainly be using OBS.

actually tbh obs virtual cam is probably not the best over all if all you want to do is just grab video from the desktop or a window. theres currently an absolute ton options for light weight and simple virtual cam programs

Andrei - that’s what I thought would be the case, too. (Thanks for the links to the lists…)… Unfortunately most all of the existing apps won’t run under the new virtual camera model and enhanced security of MacOS 14.x Sonoma. Of the ones that do, almost everyone of them (except OBS) have heavy monthly or annual subscription fees - including Manycam, Ecamm Live, mimoLive6… There are a few (such as the new Camera Graph - relatively low cost sub.) that allow for a shared (&cropped) window grab for injection into cam output, so you could capture another program’s video output window for output. But that is getting Rube Goldberg-esque compared to just defaulting to the OBS swiss army knife.

There are also potential Syphon-based solutions - such as playing video files thru Signal Culture’s Input Amp app and catching the Syphon stream via iGlasses virtual camera app for output.

Does anyone out there know of any other window-grabbing Virtual Camera apps compatible with the new Apple MacOS 14 security regimes?

…the in-system Quicktime-Screen-Recorder?…

No, unfortunately: the QT screen recorder is a record to disk function, not something that feeds live into (or as) a Virtual Camera.

By the way, Camera Graph works fine in this mode (video window grab to virtual camera output) and its lifetime license is not too expense → $49. Cheaper than most other options…
